Pot lid from Ngyo, Cabinda Angola (Woyo).
A scene with two hands, a person with a amputated leg walking with a stick and a person missing one arm who’s carried by servants. This one is comparable with the pot lid in Room 2. Here we see a round object in the middle in stead of the two hands.
The museum in Portugal gives us the following information:
It possibly refers to the proverb:
“Without an arm, goes on a sling
Without a leg, goes on foot”
Meaning: There is no justice in this world,
With money you can do anything
